KENTVILLE, N.S. — If only these elves would stay on a shelf!

There’s no telling what children in the Annapolis Valley might spot their Elf on the Shelf pal doing next.

A Christmas tradition stemming from a book released in 2005, Elf on the Shelf has worked its way into the homes of many – like it or lump it.

The story goes that the elves serve as scouts for Santa, spending time in children’s homes and reporting back to the North Pole to deliver the good, the bad and the ugly intel that helps form the naughty and nice list.

It is said the elves make a trip to the North Pole nightly, but return by morning – only to be found in some interesting hiding spots or, as has been in the case in the Valley on occasion, peculiar quandaries.

Here are a few of the Annapolis Valley elves!
