DARTMOUTH, N.S. — Halifax Regional Police have arrested a man after another man with stab wounds was found in a Dartmouth apartment Wednesday morning.
In a news release, police said they received a report at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday of a man, who looked like he had blood on his clothes, walking on Caledonia Road in Dartmouth.
Shortly after, police received a report that the Dairy Queen on 162 Main St. had just been robbed. A man armed with a knife entered the fast-food restaurant and demanded cash, but fled empty-handed.
The attempted robbery was followed by a report of a theft at the Sobeys at 60 Tacoma Dr.
The suspect description for both incidents was the same.
At 6:15 p.m., police arrested a man fitting the suspect description near 75 Tacoma Dr. He was taken to police headquarters on Gottingen Street and held in custody.
At 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers received a report of an injured man inside an apartment in the 0-100 block of Roleika Drive, police said.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed inside the apartment. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim had been stabbed Tuesday when someone took electronic equipment before fleeing the residence.
Police believe the suspect in the stabbing is the same man who was arrested the night before. It is believed the suspect and victim know each other.
A 29-year-old Dartmouth man is being held in custody and charges are expected.
