SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton Eagles reassigned a pair of players on Monday.

The team announced forward David Doucet and defenceman Matthew Lint are expected to report to either their respective major midget or junior ‘A’ teams.

Doucet, 16, appeared in 33 games with the Eagles this season, recording one goal along with six penalty minutes and a minus-7 rating. He had 12 shots on goal.

The Baie Sainte-Anne, N.B., native was drafted by Cape Breton in the second-round, No. 25 overall, at the 2019 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Lint, 17, was a free agent signing the Eagles earlier this year and earned a spot on the roster out of training camp.

In 17 games this season, Lint recorded one goal and two penalty minutes, along with a plus-2 rating and three shots.

The Saint John, N.B., native was in-and-out of the club’s lineup during the first half of the year, filling in on the blue-line and playing on the fourth line with Doucet and Connor Trenholm.

Lint was the third overall pick by the Miramichi Timberwolves at the 2019 Maritime Junior Hockey League Entry Draft, while Doucet was a fifth-round selection of the Timberwolves.
